LIBRARY NEWSLETTER April 2009 Vol. 4 No. 8 In April SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA MONTH takes place. Come to the library during the first week and you will be in for some excitement. Look below to view the dates. In special tribute to many loved ones who were lost and who survived this tragic part of history we present HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY on the dates below. Do not forget to use the library’s many resources. You will be amazed at the level of information that can be found. To Do Library Club, Scrabble Club and Academic Success Club meetings are scheduled for after school on Wednesday, April 1st; Thursday, April 2nd; Wednesday, April 22nd; Thursday, April 23rd; Wednesday, April 29th; and, Thursday, April 30th . ***New members are ALWAYS extended an invitation to join the above listed clubs. Library Activities 4/1/09 - 4/2/09 In Celebration of School Library Media Month the movie, The Librarian – Return to King Solomon’s Mines, will be presented after school in the library from 2:15 until 3:15 in the library. Noah Wylie and Gabrielle Anwar star in this adventuresome film directed by Jonathan Frakes. The Library Club, P.A.L.S. Program, Scrabble Club and Academic Success Club are presenting this program. Refreshments will be available. Join in the excitement. 4/22/09 - 4/23/09 Holocaust Remembrance Day will take place after school in the library from 2:15 until 3:15. The film, The Devil’s Arithmetic, will inform you of the need to remember the Holocaust. The stars of this movie, which was directed by Donna Deitch, are Kirsten Dunst and Brittany Murphy. The Library Club, P.A.L.S. Program, Scrabble Club and Academic Success Club are presenting this program. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome!
